On the eve of June 8, 2018, following a birthday celebration with friends, Jasmine walked arm-and-arm with her then-partner, through an open parking lot back to their car.

Behind them, an unidentified party unbeknownst to them, were in a violent gun-fire scuffle—from which a stray bullet struck both herself, and her partner at the time.
